The C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) Program has been set up in partnership with the United States Government and the industrial sector.
The certified companies implement security procedures that follow the guidelines established by the US customs authorities.
This program enables to increase the flow of secured cargo at the borders while reducing the costs related to the delays inherent to customs inspections. The measures implemented for certified companies are the following:
- Reduction in information requirements for customs clearance.
- Elimination of the need to submit data for each transaction.
- Reserved lanes for vehicles transporting cargo from certified C-TPAT and FAST participants.
- Reduction in the number of inspections at the border (six to eight times the standard number).
